Anneia - A Coming of Age Story - E-Book and Audiobook

Anneia is a 16 year old high school junior who is passionate about video games, animation, and the rock band she has formed with her best friends Julia and Marcus.

Old Man Robertson is a widower who has lived in the same Victorian home his entire adult life.  He has a reputation of being an eccentric recluse and a hermit.  All the local kids know him as “The Sorcerer” and fear both him and his ancient house.

It’s late spring, and school is nearly out for the year.  Anneia’s father mentions that he won’t buy Anneia a car, and if she wants to drive, she’ll have to get a summer job and save up her own money to buy one.

One day on the way home from school, Anneia and her friend Julia notice a help wanted sign in Old Man Robertson’s yard.  Julia dares Anneia to take the job.  Anneia is hesitant, but eventually builds up the courage to ring the doorbell.

What she discovers is that Old Man Robertson isn’t the sorcerer his reputation makes him out to be.  As Anneia helps him around the house, he helps her in return by sharing the wisdom of his old age.

Anneia is a heartwarming coming of age story about not being deceived by appearances, learning life lessons, following your passion, and living with integrity.  It’s about an unlikely relationship between an old man in his twilight years, and a young woman just getting started with adult life.

This original story was written by Baker Beltz with a little help from modern technology.  The audiobook is narrated in the author’s own voice.
